Is hot air ballooning safe and what are the age/health restrictions?

Hot air ballooning is very safe when operated by licensed professional pilots with modern, well-maintained equipment. Our pilots are internationally certified with extensive experience in Moroccan conditions. Weather conditions are carefully monitored and flights only operate when conditions are ideal. For age restrictions: minimum 6 years old to participate. Children must be accompanied by adults and able to stand for approximately one hour. Health considerations: not suitable for pregnant women, people with serious heart conditions, recent surgeries, or severe mobility issues. The landing can be bumpy so those with back or neck problems should consult their doctor. Moderate fitness level is required to enter/exit the basket.

What should I wear and bring for the hot air balloon experience?

For the hot air balloon ride, dress in layers as temperatures can change. Early mornings are cool but flight can be warmer due to balloon burners. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are essential - no high heels or sandals. Long pants recommended for comfort in the basket. Jacket or sweater for early morning chill. Hat with brim to protect from burner heat above. Sunglasses recommended for sunrise viewing. Camera or smartphone for photos (secure wrist strap advised). Small backpack or bag for personal items (left in vehicle during flight). We recommend against wearing loose scarves or accessories that could get caught. Comfortable clothing that allows movement is ideal for this experience.

What happens if weather conditions cancel the flight?

Hot air balloon flights are weather-dependent and safety is our top priority. Flights may be cancelled due to high winds, rain, or poor visibility. The decision is made by the pilot on the morning of the flight based on current weather conditions and forecasts. If your flight is cancelled due to weather: You will be notified as early as possible (often morning of flight). We offer rescheduling to another available date during your stay. If rescheduling isn't possible, we provide a full refund of your payment. We recommend booking early in your stay to allow for possible rescheduling due to weather. Cancellation due to weather is relatively rare in Marrakech (especially October-May) but we cannot control weather conditions.
